Where has my summer gone?

I just got back from my fourth get away for the summer and it is time to get into school mode. The kids don't start until after Labor day, but it seems like time is limited. This is what we did this summer:

Idaho
We went over to Idaho again this year and stayed at a family member's home for four days. As we always do, we went with Ryan's family. The weather was perfect (for me). It was around 90 every day, but it still took me until the third day to get in the water. What can I say, I like to be warm. We had a boat there that we could use, so the kids, and some adults, tubed their hearts out. My favorite things was going out on the boat to see the tube wipeouts. Apparently, I was having too much fun, because I forgot to take pictures!

Cape Dissapointment
Our second trip was a four day camping trip on the coast. This is not my favorite trip. Well, it's really my least favorite. Remember I like to be warm, and it is usually not warm here. It's cool, misty and windy. We have fun though. We hike, play on the beach and go into town for our annual walk on the boardwalk, go-carts and ice cream. I was lousy at taking pictures here too.

Orcas Island
Our third trip was camping on Orcas Island. I love this trip and the weather was great this year. Maybe a little too warm for all the hiking we did, but otherwise it was great. On the last night it was soooo warm that I actually wore my short sleeves until bed time at 11:00. That has NEVER happened to me while camping. We just don't ever go to warm places. This year we lucked out with the weather. We hiked A LOT this year and did some swimming. Paige and Brynn both hiked up to Mt Constitution, jumped off the bridge and Paige even jumped off the tree. They enjoyed fishing and had a nice little snack of Bass (I think) a couple of times. I tried to take a lot of pictures, but I don't have video of the bridge jumping (my SIL does though).

Oregon
My last trip was to Oregon to see my Dad, Rebecca and April. The kids and I went down for 5 days. It was nice to go and see them and just get to relax a little bit. I was pathetic and didn't take even one picture. My Dad and Rebecca took the kids to a water park and on a hike to a waterfall, along with countless walks and trips to the park. I injured myself (big toe nail ripped off) the day before, so I was unable to do some of those activites. I got to shop instead, bummer :) I also was able to re-read the "Hunger Games" and "Catching Fire". I am all ready for book three now. I was really anxious to be home, so we ended up leaving a day early. I am really ready for a little structure to our day. I am hoping it makes for some better attitudes. We have had a very nice summer and I am going to miss it, but I also can't wait for school to start and life to seem "normal"
