Orcas Island

The second camping trip we went on was to Orcas Island. Again we went from Wednesday to Saturday. I forgot to say that both of these camping trips are with Ryan's family. His dad, siblings and a few other extended family members. 17 people went on the first trip. 24 people went on this one. That included my sister and my cousin. On Wednesday we enjoyed the ferry ride over to the island, setting up camp and then we spent our afternoon swimming at the lake. Sorry, no pics for any of that. On Thursday we went on our annual hike up Mount Constitution. It is 4 miles each way and it is pretty steep a lot of the way with a lot of switchbacks. My sister stayed at camp with the girls and drove up to meet us. We ate lunch up there and enjoyed the view. Below is the only picture I got. Remember I just hiked 4 miles up a mountain :)
On Friday, we went on another walk (hike) to a waterfall. I think it was a little longer that it was supposed to be. Long story short...my cousin (from my side of the family) that went camping with me had a toothache and Ryan had to ride the hour long ferry, each way, back to the main land so he could meet his mom and go home. So, I had to carry Brynn who decided she didn't want to walk. Well, I think I hiked about 2 miles with her on my back and she was alseep most of the time. After the eight miles I hiked the day before I was not exactly happy about that. After that "fun" hike we went to the lake and watch people jump off the tree and swim. It was way too cold for me to get in the water.
This is the deer that frequented our campsite looking for food. He was more like a pet dog than anything else so that is what whe called him. He just came up to people and licked their hands as you can see. Well, this was another great camping trip. I will really miss the campfire talks. They are the best!

I can't believe that deer! That is amazing! Usually they are more afraid of people. What a fun trip! Your girls are seriously beautiful!
I am almost finished with "Eclipse". I love that you read all three SO FAST! I don't know how you did it. I've taken the last one way slow b/c I want to cherish it.
