The kids on Easter morning before church:
We had our Easter festivities with Ryan's family on Sat. afternoon. The kids had a balloon dart throw. All the balloons were tacked on to a large wooded bunny. Inside each egg was either a piece of paper that had something written on it (i.e. Happy Easter) that was worth a prize or $1. The kids were so funny. My girls only wanted prizes to they would pick balloons that they could see had paper in it. It was way better than an egg hunt. Then the adults had their turn. We still get an egg hunt. Every year our hunt is in the same small backyard and there is usually 10 or more adults hunting. We are always stumped and this year we had to have clues to find the last two eggs. Ryan's Dad is a great egg hider. Some examples of hiding spots, a brown egg covered in either dirt or bark or green eggs hidden in moss. There are so many times that multiple people look in the same spots and we still can't find them. Ryan's dad always says that all the eggs are visible (they just blend in). This year we came across and egg that had a disintegrated $5 in it from who knows how many years ago.
When we finally made it inside we had our first annual egg-bashing contest. Every person brought a decorated hard boiled egg to enter the contest. Two people faced off, one being the attacker and one on defense. The attacked tapped eggs and whoevers cracked was out. The winner went on to the next round. My entire family was out in the first round. Apparently are eggs had some weak shells.
