My dad had his granite counter tops installed in his house today. They are almost done. The backsplash isn't acctually attached yet. I think his kitchen looks great. He put in all new stainless appliances. Throughout the main floor (including his kitchen) he put down a dark colored bamboo floor. It looks awsome.
His house is a tri level. On the main floor is a living room, dining room and kitchen. Upstairs are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Down three steps is a sunken family room (shown below), a half bath and laundry room. He painted all the walls and it is really looking nice. He really likes his new big tv and leather sectional.
Below is a pic looking from the sunken family room up to the dining room and kitchen. He has a railing that will go up between the dining room and the drop to the family room to separate them, but it is being painted.
I think it is looking really good for a bachelor pad!
