The Dentist sure likes us!

Paige, Brynn and I went to the dentist on Friday. It had been a while (almost a year late) since Paige and I went and this was Brynn's first visit. They both did awesome. Brynn seemed to love the whole experience. They must be like me since I could fall asleep while my teeth are being cleaned. It is so relaxing to me. The good news is that I didn't have any cavities. Bad news...Brynn has one and Paige has EIGHT!!! Really bad news...we don't carry dental insurance so it's all cash. Believe me, we do brush her teeth every day. All the cavities are between teeth and of course the baby teeth that she won't lose until she is 11. Now both girls will be flossing every night. I never really thought about them flossing and their teeth have so many gaps I didn't worry about it. I had the same problems when I was a kid so I am not really surprised. I think it is going to take 4 visits to get it all taken care of and of course we can space them out a bit. I'm not sure they are going to like the dentist after this.

Side note: Paige thought it was great that she had eight cavities and she wanted to be the one to tell people. I told her they aren't a good thing, and she knew that, but apparently she was still excited about it.

Don't feel one bit bad. When I took Bruin to the dentist the first time we had the same story...although we did have dental insurance luckily. We did opt to pay an extra fee to put him to sleep and get them all done at once. Ever since then we've been doing much better :)

Do you know that Auburn doesn't have floride in their water? My dad, the dentist, recommends kids take a floride supplement every day, but maybe you already know about that. Emma's been taking floride all her life and she still had four cavities. The flossing issue as well. Catherine
